G'day people,
I had my car serviced the other day and the castor rod bushes were replaced.
I backed my car out of the garage yesterday morning and noticed a small pool of black oil that didnt have the smell of motor oil or PS fluid/auto oil....more of a watered down oil.
So I had a bit of a look around to see where it may be coming from and whether it was residue from the service (I also had the PS pump + reservior + hoses replaced in the service due to they too packing it in) and it only seemed to be leaking from the castor rod bushes.
My questions are - is it true the castor rod bushes are full of oil and as such can it leak?
And if it does leak is this an issue?
Cheers.
I'm pretty sure they arnt full of oil, the factory engine mounts did so ive been told
the factory bush DO have fluid in them, were yours replaced with factory or aftermarket bushes as the aftermarket ones dont?
i removed my factory bushes 2 weeks ago and they seem to be just solid rubber.

PRODUCT BENEFITS
A critical service item for any Commodore as the original fluid filled bush fails prematurely causing shuddering under heavy braking and excess wheel movement. Whiteline Plus offer a perfect solution that enduces a responsive braking vehicle and includes caster adjustment for precise handling
Yes the genuine have a fluid medium in them. Same as genuine engine mounts. They shouldn't have any grease like stuff present as they are a dry fit. If urethane bushes have been fitted it's not uncommon to see some of the external lubricating grease around them or even excess dripping sometimes when hot.
