    Sure can. There is a small internal pin in the mounting that doesn't have the height adjusting button. Raise the head restraint to full height and insert a paper clip or something similar into the hole in the mounting. Push it in as far as possible and the head restraint should pull out of the seat.

    doesnt one of the mounts on each head rest have a release clip on it?

    I Hope you intend to put the head rest back on as its illegal to have them removed. Just checking :P

    Agreed, one of the mounts have a clip on them. Squeeze clip and pull head rest off.. (Well mines like that unless this changed with different series/models)

    Mine won't come off with the standard push in thing on the side to adjust height however I haven't tried Calaber's method. I have a VYII Berlina. Maybe its a series 2 thing? Or a Berlina/Calais thing?

    I have the genuine factory workshop manual for this process on VY's and my description above is correct. If you have an earlier model, perhaps the recessed pin doesn't exist, but it needs to be depressed on VY's before the head restraint will pull right out of the seat.
