    Default increasing power in my VY ss ute?

    I only just bought my new 2002 VY ss ute. I've put on extractors, with a new air take, bigger 3inch dual exhaust.

    It's running at 250kw at the moment, what are further ways of increasing the power? Turbo? Supercharge? And how much?

    Twin turbo > supercharger, if thats what you want to hear. in reality its much more complicated then that.

    variables to consider would be the fact neither can push more then say, 8psi without having internal work done. so if youd want to push more then that you would have to look at stronger internals, if it were me while i was at it id just stroke it as well. with a proper built motor with the twin turbos you can push 20psi, while would give you say 600kw+. im not sure on how much you are searching for, on a stock motor with no forged internals you could safety run 6psi id say, which you would be looking at around 400kw. just keep in mind also the price of a built box, diff etc, and the fact of turbo lag.

    supercharging, youd have to look at either PD or centrifugal superchargers. both are different. with a centrifugal side mount (such as a vortech) 6psi through a standard motor will net you around 300kw, as you can see thats significantly less then a TT kit, but will behave differently, you will have no turbo lag.

    do some research, and let us know what you decide.

    not a super charger or turbo charger, but gains can be made from a nice cam package mate.

    Didn't want to get a cam package cause of the way it chews thru petrol.

    But have researched it and thought of getting twin turbos, one big one small.

    "Didn't want to get a cam package cause of the way it chews thru petrol"???? Man its going to be a lot worse with any sort of forced induction! You're going to have to run much bigger injectors

    power = more fuel, unfortunately.

    some of the boys have had success with fairly beefy cams tuned well to almost stock fuel economy
