The best oil is what ever you can afford. Everyone has different opinions on oil, but as long as it meets the the standards specified in your book, then it will be fine.

Be prepared for lots of different answers on here though.

OK, all i was wondering is what type people use. and by seeing who uses what, i will know what it most popular. I don't intend it becoming a s***fight. so if people could just post up what they use in there VY and that's all. i would be happy.

    Cheers

How long is a peice of string?

It comes down to many things, how often you service your car, how many Km's on the car, the way the car is driven etc etc.

Now for a LS1 engine, say around 150,000km - 200,000km you want to aim around a 10w. If its got more K's or its summer or its a bit tired, try a 15w.

A lot of the LS1 enthusiasts swear by Castrol Edge 10-60. Its expensive. Penrite 10-50 or 15-60. Ive also seen people put the Nulon stuff in with good results.

Ive personally been using Castrol Edge 10-60, but will be trying Penrite 10-50 on the weekend because its just to expensive.
