Black side skirts, how to take them off? & Paint

I have a vy series 2 and I absolutely hate the black side skirts, front and back bumpers too

So instead of paying someone else to paint them who will most likely rip me off, I was wondering how do I take them off and where can I find the paint that will suit my car (I need to fix tiny rust spots anyways)

Looking underneath the car at the skirts you will see about 8 metal screws along it, simply remove them first...

Secondly open your car doors and lift the seal and you will see 8 or so black plastic screws that will also need to be removed (be carefull they are a B%#*H)

And then finally remove the screws from either end of the skirt (The front may be hidden by the mudflap)

That's how I did it anyway there is probably a better order but it worked fine for me

The screws under the rubber seal are scrivets. Lever out the center of them with a small flat head screw driver or similar (may require you to simultaneously unscrew the first few threads), then remove the outer 'clip' part. If you are careful you can reuse them, otherwise just get some new ones from Holden.
