Strange petrol readings ??
Hey guys, i recently bought a vy s, its going well but, whenever i put petrol in the reading says 300ks till empty then itll go to 600, 400 and all over the place, even though the needle is still almost full, is this normal, driving style never changes so i have no idea whats causing this, and my VZ doesnt act like this, any suggestions on what i could do or look for guys ? Thanks...

Do you reset your trip meter when you fill it up?
If you reset the trip meter the average fuel economy will fluctuate a bit with driving conditions (freeway/bumper-to-bumper/hammering it) until it averages out. That will cause the 'distance to empty' to fluctuate accordingly.
Didnt reset the trip meter, i know what u mean about fluctuating readings and how its caused... Just the way its showing up after each fill is really abnormal, could be really low for half the tank, then as the tank gets emptier it gives a more full reading, its hard to explain, is there any way the fuel readings can be misread by the sensor or whatever it is that reads fuel levels ??
