ticking engine noise

i have just reolaced the heads on my vy series 2 and after putting back together the motor has a noticeable ticking noise.has anyone come across this at all????

been to 2 mechanics who are not sure.have taken belt off to see if it was a bearing in idler,changed pcv valve,tried new oil and lifter free.noise is still there.have set tappets to 11ft/lbs.really hard to pick where ticking is coming from.
