Did you forget to get door trims???? Wiring will be there it's there even in VT's. You may need to join two wires instead of having them run into the BCM to get the drivers window to work.
VX2 Executive Sedan - 3.8L Auto (for now)VT SS Sedan - Supercharged V6 Auto (Genuine L67 SS)VN SS Sedan - 5.0L 5 Speed Manual (Currently Balga spec waiting for panel and paint)
Turns out the wiring isn't there but have replaced it and all's good now![]()
Howd you get it all working? my vy doesnt have the car loom either.
Just run some decent gauge speaker wire from the switchs to the doors, and bypass the bcm. I'll do a how to when i get near my computer if ya want mate
speaker wire? why wouldnt you buy normal wire?
Use whatever wire really but you need 2 wires to each door, and it needs to be about the same gauge as the wires the body loom uses as the regulators draw a lot of power and would otherwise fry your wires.
I used heavy duty speaker wire coz its the same gauge and it has two wires.
so howd you go about wiring it up to the standard switches?
well the rears already worked with the existing wiring, just ran heavy duty speaker wire from the switches to the regs directly cutting the wires in the body harness...
Ill get back to you on what pins/wire colour does what tommorrow![]()
im keen as to see this, i bought everything for mine all regs/switches/door looms even went as far as tearing a body loom out of a car with power windows but havnt had the guts to wire it into mine
You'll still need to modify the loom, unless your bcm is a higher model
hi guys i am about to install power windows in my vy sv8 now my bcm is low which im about to purchase a mid level bcm with key, if i swap the bcm's over and swap the key head over for my original key would i still need to take it to get programmed or should it be fine aslong as i have the original key head for the new mid bcm any help would be great thanks

not sure how much they are as im using the set up out of a write off it would cost up to $500 in parts and if u are doing it urself, maybe less but shouldnt be much more im just taking a guess so dont quote me on it, but before u do start make sure ur bcm is compatible for the power windows

This is something i could kill for.. Especially with 2 doors makes things a bit easier.. Whats the best way to find out if my bcm is compatible?
just above ur accelerator there is a black plastic cover remove that then u will be able to see the bcm it should say low,mid or high if it is low then u will need to change it to either a mid or high bcm then make sure u have the harness already in the car, as some cars already have the harness in there as for mine it doesn't
