would like to know if the new streos in new commodores will fit into my vy want a easy fix to get the iphone plug

Easier fix would be an aftermarket double din headunit with iphone/ipod compatibility + a fascia, will leave room for upgrade at a later date and based on the prices I have seen on the Holden headunits, it will be a lot cheaper.

Does not have to be double din by any means, a single din unit is also suitable and chances are a lot cheaper .. A new fascia must be bought either way

Merely suggested it for the factory look that it provides (may have been a reason he wishes to stick with a holden unit etc.)

+1 for the double din. i have one and people ask if its like that from the factory, looks great

if what you mean is do the VE commodore stereos fit i wouldnt of thought of from ive seen they are a lot bigger and a different shape and would just look totally weird in a VY. just for a aftermarket youll get much better quality

Talk to the guys at ASR (sponsors section). They do modifications to the stock unit and what they do, they do well. I think they'd be able to install an iphone integration system. If not, I know they do AUX inputs.
