Default SRS AIRBAG ERROR !!! help

Ok so I got new leather interior an when I've put it in an started the car it's come with this

Now these seats are the same pretty much as my old exec ones accept

There is this additional plug coming from the seat that wasn't on my exec seats it only had the yellow one which you can see plugged in. It's the same on the passenger side.

Any advice on what could be causing this or what I can do to fix the issue ??

were all the plugs in properly before you tried starting the car?

the only way to remove srs warning now is by someone with a tech 2

same happend to mine when i took my seats out when i done my install, although i have no idea what the second plug is for.

did you have your battery disconnected when these plugs were off? if not thats why the warning is coming up.

take your car to holden and they will reset it for $77

So called Holden today. As soon as I said I removed the seats he said you got an srs error? So I'm guessing couple people have done the same thing. Got it booked in for ekka show day an only costing me $60 so lesson learnt

Yellow Plug is the pretensioner and the Orange is the Air Bag in the Seat

If you remove the seat make sure you don't turn your car on while anything with a Yellow connection is unplugged or it will chuck a Mental, You can also Avoid Airbag faults in the future by removing the Airbag fuse under the steering Column No power will get to the SRS Module so it wont know to set the alert off, then when your done put the fuse back in

Now that its gone off tho youll need to use Tech 2 to reset it

so dropped it into holden today, they cleared the fault, started the car and the fault has come back.

i have been informed that it will cost upwards of $250 for them to find the fault as they have to remove the seats and check no wires have been pinched or broken during the swap over.

looks like im taking the seats out again and looking for the fault myself. but will still cost me another $60 to have them remove the code. FML

Yea that's a concern because I was told that the dash airbags deployed on the car I took these out off.

Did the seat you fitted come from a VY or a VZ?

I fitted Calais leather seats to my VY2 Berlina a few years back and they didn't have that single yellow connection - they came with an orange one and a yellow one, both of which plugged into my existing loom. Maybe those seats are from a VZ?

On another note, I had an error message cleared at my local Ultratune for nix. Even if they charge you, they won't cost anything like the Holden dealer. I doubt you have a pinched wire - I would imagine that mystery plug is the problem.

This is what holdens report said

    "clear airbag light
    Unable to clear codes
    Attempted to clear codes failed
Checked data display an found 99ohms on pretensioner circuits checked"

if the airbags had gone off then it sounds like they have gone off also as said above...
the side airbags only go off in a side impact.

yeah pretensioners can be replaced[only one bolt holds them on]. they are not cheap though, do you still have your old seats you could just grab them off that.

After a chat with Phreddy this is where we ended up as the cause. I do still have the old ones luckily I hadn't sold them yet. I will be swapping them over in the coming days.

Big thanks to everyone on this site and special mention to Greg / Phreddy for all your help with this matter as it's has saved me a great deal off $$$$
