Default Best Speed Ranges to Flat-Foot a Stock VY SS Automatic ?

I'm just curious as to what the speed ranges are when the car will actually kick back and rev right out with some pulling power on the stock VY SS's?

I know for a fact 80k's has a good performance kick if it is flat footed, while on the other hand anywhere between 50-70 it behaves pretty poorly if the pedal is pushed all the way. Sort of behaves as if your flat footing a 92 Honda accord...

Anybody know the speed ranges where an auto will actually deliver speed?? I know there is another range down low but for me it seems to vary - i think it is somewhere between 10-30 it performs extremely well if flat footed but i want to know the exact speed..

Not sure about LS1, but L76/L98 don't get peak power until about 5800 rpm, where as torque comes at about 4200 rpm, which is when you can really feel it pull.

Look up peak torque figures for your model.

All I got from that was the following: Torque 465Nm @ 4400-4400rpm

Dosent really tell me much.. What i am talking about is for instance in my Auto, if i was to flat foot the pedal while doing about 50Km/h, the car wont really deliver much performance at all. Feels almost like driving a 4Cyl Camry.

But if i do the same around 30-40 Km/h the car seems to deliver performance real well.

Second best would be from standing still.

There is also decent performance while doing 80Km/h.

I have discovered this myself over time.

Yes it does. If you want a kick then it needs to be at ~4000rpm+

1st goes to ~60kmh @ 6000rpm. It will only drop to 1st if you are going slower than ~45kmh
2nd goes to ~125kmh @ 6000rpm. It will drop to 2nd if you are going between ~45kmh ~95kmh
That's from my V6, but since the V8 has the same gearbox and diff the calculations will still work out.

If you floor it at 40km/h it will shift to 1st gear and rev from ~4000rpm (40kmh / 60kmh x 6000rpm) to the redline. So you are pretty much in the peak torque band and it'll have a kick.

If you floor it at 60km/h it will shift to 2nd gear and rev from ~2900rpm (60kmh / 125kmh x 6000rpm), and hence it lacks a kick..

If you floor it at 80km/h it will shift to 2nd gear and rev from ~3850rpm (80kmh / 125kmh x 6000rpm).

Nicely explained - makes perfect sense now.
