Cluster Overlay. (Wanted.... spare cluster)

Hey all.
New member hear looking to start "personalising" my ute. the standard dash over lay with the incrimentations on it i find a little boring. im going to change the LED's in it but its not alway dark....
Is it at all possible to airbrush the back pannel or buy one of those pannels individualy?
with all this said i want a spare cluster so if i make a F*CK up i have a spare.... if any one has one please let me know.

Hey mate welcome,

Firstly i doubt air brushing would be easy nor practical to do, they do have overlays on ebay though

Secondly i might have a spare cluster but will have to have a good look for it ahah... if i do find it i can also change the leds for ya as well (just coz i have the setup) otherwise u can have a crack at it ya self

also note if you plug in another cluster youll most likely set off the DTC alert and it will complain that you have no airbags, then you need to have the Alert reset

um that would be great!! a holden dealership can match the odo and re-calibrate ect? as well as re set the air bags?
are the dial plates all the same incriments/size or are they diffferent for year and series obviously a V8 panel wont work.

Yeah they can recalibrate it and reset the faults, the cluster I have would only be a level one though mate,

Id take up D3CID3RS offer personally though 80$ is a bargin

um sorry for my naive but whats the different levels...? i think mine might be a level one any way... its a base model VY so..

an exec (base model) is level 1, lvl3 is like Calais and that with the 3 window clusters

I could be wrong but i think holden can only reprogram the cluster before it reaches 100kms after that its locked out, so they tell me

if you put a level 3 in a level 1 car - the screens will light up but the info won't be displayed like average fuel and temp, is that right?
