hey everyone, i drive a vy s series 2. just resently had a redback cat back exhaust installed (free from a mate of mine so i thought why not haha) doesnt have a tip yet but i have noticed an extreamly annoying and rather stupid sounding high frequency loud rattle at exactly 3000rpm and will continue to rattle till about 3500rpm. before and after it sounds great.
i wiggled the exhaust around and it isnt touching my rear bumper so it must be something further down which i cant see. sounds like metal on metal contact. any ideas?
thanks.
Could be one of the baffles inside the silencer box.
There are a few close areas along the exhaust , as it heats up the pipes/mufflers /cats expand & can contact the body /rear suspension etc . Best to put it up on a hoist & recheck along the exhaust run. , You need a minimum of 1 finger thickness around any part of it to any underframe part as a rule.
does it sound like beer bottles rattling around by any chance?
