Default VY SS Headlight Lense Replacement

I recently hit my car and broke my headlight tabs, I bought a pair of used genuine but the lense is all scratched deeply.

I'm thinking of swapping my lenses over, is it a easy process or not worth it?

Is say its not worthwhile, its sealed pretty damn tightly and you'd probably crack the lens tabs if you tried

Ive heard of people using wet and dry sand paper on their headlights lens', probaby your best bet

Yeh I was thinking of rubbing it back with 1200 paper and buffing it but I don't think it will remove deep scratches. Any one else have any thoughts???

If you search for a how to on painting your headlights. Gives you a step by step in removing the lense. It's not easy but can be done.

I pulled both my headlights apart to install projectors. Not easy but do able. Easier with an extra pair of hands

when I asked about fitting angle eyes I was told to pull apart the headlight, you place it in a warm to moderate oven and this makes the glue soft and sticky.
But keep an eye on it as they will warp or melt if left too long.
Then you pull the halfs apart.
They didn't say whether to replace the glue for putting back together.

The guide I've seen is once your done put it back in the oven to soften the existing glue an put back together.

Yeah i might try putting it in the oven, how long you guys recommend and at what temp??? After i pull them apart i can get rid of the glue and re-seal up again with urethane.

Aftermarket ones are all over eBay, i just always thought it may cause problems like larger gaps in a few areas and tabs not lining up properly, i guess everyone makes them differently.

I stumbled across these on eBay

Holden Commodore VY LED DRL Black Headlights Euro Style | eBay

I wouldn't mind these actually if they fit up nice and straight, anyone got these headlights?
