Default Changing WK / WL Fog light globes

Anyone know what type of globe they take and how to change them, would like to get some whiter globes to match LED Parkers.

    Found this elsewhere:

IV looked everywhere, i cant find it anywhere, wat globes does a wl stato use in the fog lights? im looking to try to match the colour of the 8000k hid i just installed last night.

    any help would be great!

    cheers, Adz!

after looking aroung for a good 2 days and finding nothing, i finall found what it is!

they use a H27 globe, with a massive 27 watts of power!

they are similar to a h11 globe, so as no brands make a whiter/briter replacement im goin to replace it with a h11 with a bit of modification! i sat a h11 in there and its a hell of alot brighter and will need to be adjusted as to not blind oncoming cars.

I suspect changing them involves a second elbow in your arm. By the look of the back of the unit (from Internet photos) they should unclip and extract the globe. Looking at where they are situated, lying on the ground and getting your tongue in the right position may be the only option.

Possibly jack the car up to get a look? I imagine once you know what is behind there it can't be overly difficult (excluding the fact that no-one can get their head under the front bumper to look).

Perhaps with the wheels full lock there may be access from the wheel arch? Laying next to the car from that point may provide an option?

Let us know how you go.

    Hey guys,
Yep that's correct they take the h27globe.
And if your after a whiter globe there isn't any on the market.

However your only other option is to find a 880 size hid globe kit which is exactly the same as the h27 globe.

I just recived mine for my WL caprice today and will be fitting them shortly.

    Cheers
    Dave.

How do you access them? Is it a case of jacking the car up or can you get to them by fumbling behind the bumper?

Sorry for the late reply just got back from work,
If your car isn't lowered u can slide underneath the bumper, but if it is lowered u need to jack the car up.
I found jacking that car up either way was easier for me and gave me the chance to have a good look underneath at all the piping for leaks etc.

To get the globes out it is very very simple, if your abit flexible you don't even need to lift the car.
Just grab the globe and twist it anti-clock wise (dont quote me on it) then pull it out.
I Would suggest you remove the harness attached to the globe foray before the globe, just pinch the taps at both ends and pull down to remove the harness from the globe.

Its very similar to the h11, same method for replacing.

    Hope I helped.

    Cheers
    Dave.

Well I installed my hid fog lights last night they took about 30mins to do
    with both front wheels raised.

They look sweet but my reflectors were already broken off (seen in bottom fog light) so need new caprice foglights.
    Anyone got some?

O.k I put in the new globes and they are whiter than the old ones.

New globe is drivers side, old globe passenger side.

    Night pic:

They are the same white as my headlights which is what i wanted

Also for anyones future refernce the H27 globe for these foglights is more commonly known as an 881 globe.

A quick search on ebay found a few interesting ones

    Default Philips make them now

I have found a url on the philips autolighting:-

    Vehicle Application

You then run trhough and it gices all the globes you need.

Autobarn has most of them. If not, then have a look at the supliers list and you hopefully can find a close store.
