Default boot stuck closed - help needed (I'm not inside)

The boot on my VY is stuck closed. Both the remote key button and glovebox button will not open it. I can hear the motor in the back trying to release the latch, but it's still closed.

I have managed to open it by crawling into the boot through the reclined backseat and pulling on the emergency cable (incase you get trapped inside). But this is not a long term solution.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks

The boot lock actuation rod would have broken.

Go to Holden/wherever and tell them what is happening and that you need the boot actuator rod and they will sell you the right part. It's roughly 3 inches long and connects the boot lock to the actuator. Which is why remote release wont work

Thanks Sabbath, are you aware of any info regarding how to replace it? Or is it obvious when I start the job?

hmmm i have a similar issue i guess, But its not the rod thats broken.
I Find if the boot is closed a little too hard, the boot will not release and the motor wont pull the lock when you press the button.
So this ends up with using the emergency release behind the seats.
If the boot is closed very gently its fine.
    Any ideas ?

have a go at screwing in/out those little screw in rubbers around the bottom of the boot... i had to screw mine out a bit so it lifted the boot a tad for it to work(everytime)....

As per above, the actuator rod will be broken, its like coathanger wire bend into a rod about 3 inches, it will be obvious once you take the boot liner off, I actually replaced mine with coathanger wire as it was stronger, just model it exactly on the broken one, mine was broken at the end where it bends around at 180 degrees. I think when you take it to holden to be fixed they try to tell you to replace the whole thing including the motor bit, way dearer than just the wire.
