As above. Good chance its your lifters. This is often worsened with an aftermarked cam if it has an agressive profile. What type and grade of oil are you running? Running a different reputable brand or grade can often help this since its only intermittent.

My cars got a tick in the far left cylinder aswell haha. I suspected a lifter aswell, even though i got all of mine replaced with the cam install.

Check your oil pressures hot/cold in conjunction with the Holden specs

    Check your oils etc.

If that's all good, (this is sourced from Steve @ Mace), he said you can cheat by putting a higher ratio rockers on as they put more force onto the lifter, which (in short description) stops the ticking.

^ I'm not too sure on that stuff though, you're better off asking Steve about that - So don't take my word on it.

I know this might sound weird, but it could be your injectors too.

edit: How many K's has your car done? If it's over 100,000 I thought running higher than 5/30 was more recommended. I ran a lighter oil in mine by accident, and it definitely made a loud ticking noise from the injectors. - Which got louder.

Just to elaborate on what DevilDRake's mentioned, you can also linish down the rocker pedestals or run slightly longer pushrods. This will put more lifter crush on the lifter, often curing a lazy lifter. I suppose it might be something to consider prior to changing lifters

    Cheers,

    it's the PVC

i bet it only happens when the engine is slowing down
if it were an engine problem you'd hear it all the time

Ah a cam, then you may need longer pushrods depending on the cam base circle (reduction in size)

well today the guy from the car dealership and he isnt going to pay for the valve spring replacement, but he will replace the water pump.

i wasnt happy with the outcome so i had a heated conversation with him and after all of him spinning some crap i got a outcome of him putting $200 towards the new performance springs
