For a basic series 1 VY ute with those very high kms (216000) it will be much harder to move. Much also depends on overall mechanical condition and the condition of the body.

So you will be doing ok if you can get around $7500 -$8000 for it if it's in just average condition. I would advertise it at about $9200 and see how you go. Be prepared to negotiate with interested buyers and to drop the advertised price under $9000 if you get no interest. You will be competing with a lot of sellers with much lower km utes.

Keep an eye on the asking prices for the same vehicles, (same year and model and same spec) advertised on carsales.com in your area with kms of 200000 and over. Typically many private sellers ask too much for their cars.

Go to a Holden dealer and check the trade in value they will give you on a new ute. That will be a wholesale price and it will be low. If you can achieve an extra $2000 or so over the trade in value on a private sale you will be doing ok.
