    Default vy fuel usage

hi i just did 3000km highway drive and the my car seamed to use to much fuel. i have a 3.8l supercharged vy with a k/n pod filter and the speed was 130km/h but most of the time i had cruise control set to 140. i was only getting about 500-600 km out of a full tank can anyone tell me if this is normal.

and also the windows were up the entire way and the a/c was off

Sounds about right. Best I ever got was 9l/100k out of my v6 vs and that was average speed of 110.

As you speed increases your economy will drop off again because of increased aerodynamic drag and increased engine speed.

My vz SS does about 8.2L/100km at 100kph, but about 9.4L/100 at 110kph. You would have got more km's if you stuck to the speed limit.

Mines about the same as yours at 100kmh. But not as high at 110kkmh as yours. But mines a six so..

To the OP, I'de be more worried about how many fines are coming in the mail driving at those speeds.

Agree with above, that's not bad if you were sitting on 130-140 k's.

If these ignorant people looked and saw where you live you'd get better comments. I'm pretty sure the roads where he lives has none-marked speed limit zones.

I'd say thats good for how quick you were going though!

That is my bad then, I didn't quite understand the way he wrote it.

But 10ks @ that speed isn't going to make a massive difference. 600k's is pretty good..
