Yes, a trans cooler should be one of the first mods on a v8 commodore. my bros had one on his ss ute for the last couple of years and barely breaks a sweat.

Yes they make them for manual transmission, although it would require running a pump setup to pump it through the cooler and then back into the box [similar to a dry sump setup]

    manuals dont need one

if the car was fitted with a towing pack (towball) it should have one, but it will be tiny

every car should have one, they will prolong the life of the box

If it isnt tuckin, it must be suckin

Really? Shit, you learn something new every day. I always assumed they did.

Is it because they don't have bands and a torque converter generating massive amounts of heat? Are the gears always submerged in oil or....?

All auto transmission cars are cooled through the radiator unless fitted with a tow pack etc then it would need an external

Could just try and get a factory external cooler from a wrecker or something with all the lines, fittings and mounting brackets to suit your model. That would probably be pretty easy to hook up, just bolt it all together, top up the fluid and id imagine that's it
