Wat are ur thoughts...
you may as well go 4.11s
Pros
pretty good take off, good for burnouts and drags if you do that sorta driving
Cons
pain in the ass if its a manual, not that great for freeway driving, speedo and odo will be out of whack
give em a go their pretty fun a first but gets annoying after a while
Its a cammed 5sp manual.. Is there alot of diff between 3.9 and 4.11
diff gears are good in a manual, if its a 5/6spd 4.11 is the go. 3.7 or 3.9 if an A4
freeway driving doesn't change a whole lot, just slightly higher revs. no good if you rack up the k's in your car. ODO can be done easily enough, had mine done for like $80
i still love mine, gives the car better takeoff and better skids[if i did them that is]
I thought 4.11 wld be over the top? Im just worried about highway driving and take offs.. I wanna be quick off the line but not slide too much
you can get the speedo correction kit from jaycar, i paid about 50 from memory, their not bad with the manual but it just pissed me off in the end, just give em a go man if you don't like em you can put the 3.08s back in
4.11's would be silly for a 5 speed daily driver imo, i'd go 3.9's maximum. In my skyline I have 3.7's and with a very close ratio 5 speed box that's about as far as I'd want to go.

Yeah i was thinking the same.. Wats the price difference betwwen the two ratios? Just for gears..
Yeah it is a daily driver.. In first gear the powerband for the cam gets the wheels spinnin a bit around 4000rpm with 19s
I was just going to change them, but unsure of prices or wats needed.. I know a guy who can put them in
I just need gears and watever elsr
VT V6 fitted with DMS gold 40mm coilovers, Whiteline adjustable swaybars & strut brace, 330mm AP racing brakes, Rebuilt 3.45:1 LSD and a Powerdyne supercharger

How is it cos of the 19s? I want upgraded diff gears for quick take offs etc and
Quicker quartermile time.. When im in first goin slow speeds, put my foot dwn, i get diff bounce
Or wheels start to loose traction
3.7's are great. 3.9s or 4.11's in a manual you'd be changing gear pretty much instantly. and it'd be reving it's tits off.
Yeah, im so unsure of what to do.. I wanna get the most outta my car, but at same time, want it to be
Practical..
I think you need to drive a car with some 3.9 or even 4.11 gears so you know what its like

I think so too, but dnt know anyone with them
Ive had 3.89:1 in my VS for about 8 years now. Its auto. Its not that bad on the freeway at 110. I think a 5spd has the same 5th gear ratio as an auto's 4th anyway. But yeah you'll be changing gears more often.
Go for it, 3.9's are awesome![]()
Turns out my stock ratio is 3.46.. Stil worth doing?
I can swap my diff for a fully recond genuine 3.9set
Lsd for 1k..
i have 3.9's in my ss, first, second, third are quick, but to be honest it doesn't phase me, great take off and is good fun when you want to drop a skid. anything under 3.9's are for girls. you wont regret it.
livin' the low life.
Haha i think u just talked me into getting them.. Is a grand good for a diff swap? All new bearings, gears, seals etc?
