hi guys.
my 2004 executive vy has started to show the abs warning light when braking, also every time i drive the car it drains the battery. I have checked the battery, alternator, and resistance in the terminals and all is fine. WHAT ELSE CAN IT BE.... Please help??
think you need the abs codes checked and maybe your battery is on the way out?!
The engine has only 2 sources of power, the alternator and the battery. If the alternator is not supplying sufficient power, or is supplying no power, to the engine's electrical system then the battery will be discharged while driving the car. From what you have said, ie. the battery is draining when you operate the engine, I would conclude that either the alternator is faulty or there is a problem with the wiring connected to the alternator so there is zero or insufficient power being delivered by the alternator to the engine's electrical system. Hence the battery power is drawn to operate the car. I would suggest the most likely cause is a faulty alternator.
I suspect/guess that the ABS warning which occurs when running the car, and then braking, might be connected to the power supply problem, particularly if this problem occurred at around the same time. The ABS needs sufficient power at all times to function. Fix the power supply issue first and re-check.
maybe im not 100% but check the bushes in ur alternator if they r knackered this will happen. they r easy enough 2 check if u know wat ur looking 4
