Im stuck! Its a VY II 3.8 with 40,000 KM. When i start car in morning fires up fine for 2 seconds then revs die down to nearly stall than ramp bak up to idle this process repeats for about 3-4min stalling sometimes, then idle settles but is still a little lumpy. When car firsts starts a little white smoke comes out exhaust for a few seconds.
No Codes on tech 2 + cleaned AFM and TB. Fuel Pressure OK.
Any help will be much apprecated.
Car Has some mods.
Have you checked oxygen sensors?
If the oxygen sensor is sending the wrong signal to the PCM hunting could occur. One minute it's telling the PCM 'too lean, add more fuel' the next it's saying 'no, that was too rich, take fuel out'. The process can go on.
Has your fuel consumption increased recently?
Fuel Consumption has never been any good cause i have a Vortech V2 increasing that,
As for the O2 sensors would that show up on the tech 2 as an error code?
Not necessarily as they are still working, just not as they were designed. False readings from the O2 sensors don't classify as error codes, unless they're way out of plausibility.
Check for any air leaks in the intake. The little hose on the bottom of the Throttle Body is a common problem. Symptoms are bad idle, but goes OK when given some throttle.

yeah as acarmody said check the vacume lines they can make the car idle incredibly poorly. short of that i don't know. good luck with the fix!
livin' the low life.
Checked the whole engine for vacume leaks with no sucess.
I had a similar problem, had to replace the throttle cable because the plastic bit on the bracket had broke =P

Have replace O2 sensors and checked for air leaks and the problem is still there. GRRR. Is there a better way to check for airleaks or is a can of WD-40 the best way?
Car also has a slight run on when I back off mid rpm range.
Someone please help!!!
