I was doing burnout in my vy... i dont do them often keke..
anyways i wasnt too imprest with it :/ maybe because use to have VN and it did awesome burnouts and was auto and my VY is manual i find it hard to do it with the pedals atm OK anyways
I was wondering VY S Pack 2002 what diff do that have and ratio of it? it didnt feel like it was LSD?? is it 1 wheeler or LSD?

if it's lsd it will prolly have a small metal tag saying it's lsd on the rear right of the housing.
There is also a part number sticker on the side towards the pinion yoke which has the ratio on it, but being a manual it will probably be the 3.46:1 ratio.

3.08 ratio
lsd is an option so if you asked holden for it you woulda got and payed for it but otherwise no its a single
to do a burnout in a manual use your heal on the brake and toes on the accelerator you need f all brake but once your used to it you shouldnt have a problem doing fat burnouts
pretty sure all stock diff's in commies are 3.08's...
yeah ill second that, 3.08 ratio
All Commodores from at least VT up haven't used 3.08 at all, Stock VY is 3.46 whether it be Exec or SS or even Calais, HSV was 3.73. VZ SS got the 3.73 too. 3.08's are now history in Commodores and have been for nearly 10 years.Originally Posted by Zoinker
No I think you will find that the automatics have the 3.08 ratio and the manuals have the 3.46 ratio. HSV being different to that again.Originally Posted by HSVKEV260R8

Almost right, did my research over the weekend and they have (strangely enough) a 3.07 ratio in autos.Originally Posted by OZ38
I know for VY Autos-
V6, M76 diff, 3.08:1
V6 supercharged and V8, M80 diff, 3.07:1

That is strange as you say.Originally Posted by HSVKEV260R8
I'm looking at my VY Ute specs brochure from when I bought my ute.
It has ecotec V6, 225kw GenIII V8, 235kw high output (wow) GenIII V8 and it lists:
Manual as 3.46 and Automatic as 3.08 for all three engine models in the VY.
But really a difference of 0.01 is not worth the dispute is it ?
