hey i was just woundering what could i do performance wise on my vy s for red p platers in victoria
Legally pretty much nothing
so i wont be able to do anything like exhust, extractors or air intake
I suggest you read the Vic Roads website first, then ring your insurance company and see how they feel.
thx for info looks like ill be keeping it stock till im off my p's
Do whatever you want to your car, #### the law.
As mentioned mate. But ring your insurance company & Vic roads, have a chat about the laws and what would still be covered under insurance. I did when i was on my Ps, i asked about a exhaust, they said no problem so long as it is with in RTA laws (NSW) such as the exhaust must not exceed 90DB and must have 2 mufflers just like standard. So i did the right thing and installed exactly that. Just as a example. also Say a pod filter, so long as its road legal as in enclosed in a case. But really dont mod it, save $ its only and 6, and you could spend heaps and get a few extra KW, unless your planing on forced induction.
such stupid laws lol, its not like an exhaust and intake makes a huge difference on a v6 anyway
Hahahaha ok, I love v6 drivers they make me laugh.
I wish i owned a v10 lolHahahaha ok, I love v6 drivers they make me laugh.
To the OP dont bother too much with anything else other than the exhaust and some intake stuff... save the big bucks for something with more potential (e.g BOOST, or a v8)
The question was what mods can a Victorian Red P Plater do.
The answer is, legally, lower your car, stereo, wheels. You are NOT LEGALLY ALLOWED to modify your car in a way which will increase the power output of the engine. That includes air induction and exhausts.
Now, what you can get away with without getting fined is totally different, but if you crash there is a chance your insurance company will pack their bags and go home.
Im closing this thread because I get sick to death of the clowns that pop up and say "oh #### the law, coppers wont pull you over!!"
