    Default Airbags Vy SS

    Gidday, first time posting on this site;
    I have to find out from users if anyone has experienced this,
    I think there is a common problem with vx vy vz commodores as the airbags do not deploy in my and few other peoples experience?
    one major in particular, the vehicle was rolled and major inpact to drivers and pass side no airbags were deployed.

    Also may already been asked but i need to find out the resistance of the drivers wheel airbag, as im worried the bag may blow if i put my multimeter across the pins!

    Thanks Fez

    yeah i was thinking a scan tool would do it, dunno bout the analogue meter because they would still have a batt wouldn't they? even an analogue ohm meter would have a batt i would think. I could use my megger on ohms function because thats analogue but that has a batt, think ill just have to give it a go if shes blows ill let you know haha.

    Dunno how acurate this is, because the pin are so close together, but i measured 0.47 ohms between the two pins that the yellow airbag connector plugs into on a vy ss airbag, with an acurate just calibrated dmm and i didn't blow the bag!

    The airbag can only deploy if the sensors read a deceleration rate the same as hitting a solid object at 40km/h or more. A roll over may not trigger the airbags because the sensors didn't detect that rate of deceleration. Sometimes an airbag deployment can be more harmful to an occupant if it goes off at the incorrect time.

    Also, it takes more than a multimeter battery to trigger an airbag.

    Interesting, just being cautious bout the multimeter, but yeah just never heard of one going off in a vy vz, and in two incidents of my own never had one go and it was more than 40km/h.
