Hi,
Just a quick question. Does anyone know how much power the standard diff can safely take before it starts to get a little in the danger zone. Just asking because after my engine build my gearbox died (putting it lightly) just after dyno'ing at 550hp at the wheels.
Was only running 7psi so i expect to get a fair bit more power, but im guessing the diff isnt going to like much more.
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Tried googling and wikiapediaing but could find much info.
Hey bud,
My best mate has a VY SS ute with a big single turbo on it. He has been driving it for around 2 years now with the single on and never had any diff issues at all. He is making 360rwkw on 7 psi.
The only issue he has had so far was his auto going caput.
As long as you maintain it and check for metal shavings in the diffs oil you should be ok![]()
All depends how its being used/punished
