hi just got my vy back from a service and this is what they said needs done - rocker cover gasket $180 rear ext housing seal $160 power steering leak from rack and pump $780 z bar bushes $380
link pin bushes $140. just wondering if there trying to rip me off he said the leaks arent bad

Aren't they about $25 from Holden? I did mine in my old VY v6 last year, took about 15 minutes.

Link pins should be about $20 each too, don't just replace the bushes.

I had to ring Holden for another issue the other day, and they factor in $130 an hour labour. So sounds like the prices they qouted were more labour than anything, and some of the things you said that need doing arnt overly difficult

Woah how slow are you? I can get a side off and changed in 5 minutes max.

$780 to fix a pump and rack leak, what did they do? If they put a reconditioned rack and pump in than that price maybe be right. I got quoted $500 for a reco rack with 12 months warranty and a wheel alignment. Pump, not expensive or overly hard to fit.

Z bar bushes, a bit hard to get out, but should be easy with the proper tools that the dealership should have.

$140 for link pin bushes? Are they made of some rare minerals? Crikey, $50 for pins and bushes, and maybe 20 minutes to change if car is on a hoist.

Never done a rear extension housing seal so I can't comment on that.
