    Default air con compressor

    hi as the title states my air con compressor is stuffed, do i need a particular compressor to replace?

    also its a v8 ss

    yes you need the right part to suit your car! for a new compressor, you need to replace the tx and reciever drier and get the system flushed for a warrenty. I have a vt 6cyc compressor for sale, and this wont suit

    trip or a phone call to your local holden dealer with your VIN number should give you the part numbers and cost.

    You dont need to change the TX valve.

    The receiver dryer should be changed whenever the system is opened to atmosphere.

    you buy a new compressor it clearly states on the box for warranty. That was the point I was trying to make. Just look up your local air con shop.

    Ive replaced countless compressors and never had any issues with leaving the TX valve. Changing it is pointless if its working correctly, its just a valve.

    you do what you gotta do mate , I just like to cover all bases with customers and keep my suppliers happy if a problem was to ever happen

    Quoted $1367.65 today for new pump/TX valve /receiver dryer /hose assembly /O rings and re gas plus 4 hours labour ..the Muppet told me $600-650 for the pump! I think I'll get another when I'm in Melbourne next week

    nice price, dont forget to get new o-rings that seal the pipes top the compressor. Holden stock them.

    4 hours labour is a bit steep to change a compressor, dryer and TX valve...
