Just sold a 2003 VY commodore executive for $3900. It is in good condition.
Colour: white
Had new tyres, battery, sway bar links, thermostat, rear disc machining installed
Also offered them a years worth of registration but with no compulsory third party insurance or green slip
How many k's?

It had around 197 000kms. What would of been a better price to sell it at?
yep sounds like a fair price then.

yes, id say you could have atleast got 5
Some work that was needed on the car was:
It had its left mirror needed to be reattached, the right side of the car had one of the black strips fall off, a minor dent the size of a 2 dollar coin, a bigger dent the size of a handball, the key was also not the original key, the key i offered them had no buttons
Do you still think it's worth 5?
I paid 6 for 99,000k's, near new tyres, aftermarket audio setup, new paintjob, new battery and it's an acclaim. And it had roadworthy. I guess you could have convinced someone to pay that but i certainly wouldn't have.

About two years, the paint job was average tbh so the guy was having trouble selling it. Certainly not the average price i guess, i was looking at a vy wagon with 130,000k's but when the sales guy couldn't tell the sway bar from the bumper bar and wouldn't budge on price despite the various issues/broken parts i moved on.

i just sold my 03 acclaim for 10,000
car was in great condition and with only 93,350 kms
Makes me wonder what I'd get for my 03 exec with 175,000 even though it has leather an all the other stuff done to it
Even though it's in perfect condition an motor is strong an serviced regularly I'm guessing my thought of around $8000 is off :S

How much is it to replace the timing belt on the 2003 VY commodore executive when it hits 200 000 km? Also what else is needed to be fixed at 200 000 km?
Doesn't have a timing belt so i'd expect it to be fairly cheap.....
All I'd be getting done at 200k's is oil+filter, air filter, and the usual components inspected for wear..... you should get change from $200 for the cost of a service providing nothing else needs replacing.
As for the cost of the car I reckon you could have got more for it. There is a VT V6 in a car yard near me with 12,990 in the window and I rarely see VY's for under 10k in car yards and the ones that are cheap are usually trashed. I think for a privates sale you would get 7-8 grand easily if its in good condition.
Bummer, sold her a bit cheap. You Need a online poll to explain it?
