Hey all.
So my fuel pump shit itself, the gauge stopped working, so i decided to replace the MRA module. I ordered a new module and now the gauge reads kinda backwards, where as 20L in the tank reads F on the gauge and a full tank reads 1/4. Im guessing the unit supplied is incorrect. How many different modules will fit in these tanks. The car in question in a 2003 model VYII S pack. According to my supplier the unit supplied is the one for the car. Ive been told to try a unit to suit a VX. i did a search and so far all ive found is calibrate. which i dont think will resolve my problem
Any advice is muchly appreciated
Sounds like they have given u a series 1 unit on series 2 a few things were revised and the fuel gauge will read backwards if a series 1 sender is used
thats what i thought, but the part number theyve given me is listed for my VIN#. Atm the series 2 unit is in there and its making the gauge do funny things. Im wondering if maybe it takes the series 1 unit. Theres something not quite right about this VY.
do u still have the old mra unit compare part numbers and see if its right maybe some one changed the cluster and sender over from series 2 to series 1 in the past
What month was your car manufactured? If i remember correctly there was a change over period for s1/s2 fuel senders, and it's not at exactly the same time as s2 was introduced, just thereabouts.
Cheers for the info guys.
You are exactly right TMM, there was a cut off for these senders. Mine falls in this changeover period. All resolved with an MRA unit from a VX... Thanks very much for all your replies guys.
