I need help with my 2003 Series II VY commodore. It started out a week ago with the "check engine" warning coming on randomly, so i pulled over turned the car off started her again and off we went no worries.... A few days later it decided it didnt want to start finally after 30mins it started. I took it to my mechanic who put a new ignition switch in it and away we went. 2 days later after a 10km drive i went to start it an it wouldn't go, it was turning over but not starting up, so off to the mechanic again an she now has a new fuel pump as the old one was shot!
So again 2 days later problem still not solved and now it stalls.... twice yesterday in the space of 2mins but started again straght away, today it didn't start again. So off to the mechanic again (via tow truck)!!
There's no warning that its going to stall it just stops the only light that comes on it the battrie light.
Everything i have read leans towards crank sensor??
Please help.![]()
i had this problem with mine but 2 new O2 sensors and cleaning the intake manifold solved it... is yours a manual or an auto? mine was a manual and would do it downshifting from 5 down to 4 or 4 to 3 if you didnt change quick enough although it was a little random... would drop to about 400rpm and either pick back up or stall
Its an auto. It just randomly does it, it dosn't depend on the temp of the car, the distance it's been driven or the speed ur driving at nothing at all, it's just pure random! I know of someone else who's have the exact same problem...
hhmm i had a bloke at work have his car randomly stall (vu ute) and it was just the fuel filter... other than that i dont really know although someone else on here might have a better idea
I've got a v8 auto and it has done similar thing. Replaced 2 faulty temp sensors that were reading -40 degrees so feeding too much fuel. One tech thought it cld be fuel pump but it's fine also. Map sensor was loose and since it's been checked and placed back with a new temp sensor no issues thus far. Fingers crossed its sorted.
