Hey guys i have a VY SV8 commodore and now for some reason my transmission revs out high ONLY!! in first gear it wont change from 1st to second gear at about 4000Revs or higher, every other gear is fine. If you rev it high then slowly bring the revs down while driving it will drop into second,?
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THIS COULD BE?? REASON WHY ITS URGENT CAUSE IM ON A HOLIDAY ATM AND WONDERING IF ILL MAKE IT HOME!!! THANK YOU!!
so you have to go over 4000 revs and then dropback to get it to change or it just wont change over 4000rpm?? either way i wouldnt see any reason you wouldnt make it home with that problem as it doesnt appear to be tearing itself apart
I'd say you would make it home, I'm going to assume it's auto..
You could try using the shift 1-2 gears on the way back if it helps.
It's unlikely all the gears will just "drop out" and the box kill itself.. You should be able to get home easily.
Anyone feel free to correct me.
Thanks for the reply it dont work changing gears manually and yes its auto lol
And what do you think the problem could be?
Check the fluid level for starters. Low fluid level will result in flaring between gears but unfortunately so will a box thats cactus.
