Help, engine hot alert while driving. Please help!

Hi everyone

I just having this problem today, i was driving my car with air-con fully on, and the engine hot alert came on, the tempereture meter hitted the red H, so i parked my car with engine running and turn the air-con off, the tempereture quickly drop back to normal, stop engine for 10mins, back on road with air-con on again, no problem, back home, couple hours later, go to work, same happened, i just kept on driving with air-con off, tempereture drop back , turned on ac, no problem.
But when i finished work, driving back home, same happened again, but this time the tempereture keep heating up, even when i turned off the ac, called racq, couldn't fix, got free towed home.

just wanna know what can cause this before i take the car to check.

Checked coolant levels?

yes,the coolant level is at normal, and i just added 2 lter of coolant in, leaked about 300-400 mls, so i think it should be full. had a test drive, engine temp gets higher again, but when i turned the fan to highest level, it dropped back to normal temp within 10 sec. what will the problem it be?

change your radiator cap, could be leaking, its a common problem.

your aircon clutch could be buggered

just contact the mechanical, will drop the car in tommorrow, hope it is not a bit issue. thanks for all the reply.
