My car came from Brisbane to Toowoomba fine but i drive out the road and the engine started to overheat. When i got out, orange brown water was coming out from under the right hand side but anyway, i got home completely flushed out all of the rust type mud stuff replaced the coolent to spec but yet it still overheats.........plz some hints on whats wrong would be nice.
Air lock will make it do that.
Did you bleed the system?
Thanks for the help . . . . didnt know about the airlock or bleeding it cheers, i'll go do it
You could have a small split in the side tanks of the radiator , only leaks when pressure builds up, common fault , replace the radiator & both hoses.
hey yeah thanks, bleeding the lines worked a bit but she still like to go up near red line then back down and the radiator isnt split, i done a pressure test on it and it held fine but yeah im just gunna let warranty do its job, cheers for the help i'll know next time now.
If the water that came out when it over heated was that colour I'd suspect the radiator might be partially blocked or the vanes could be partly corroded off the water pump.
Cheers all, had a proper mechanic look at it and it was mi thermostat apparrently it was a bit dodgey so they replaced it and now she stays cool.
