Fitting a Calais rear bumper to Acclaim

I want to put a Calais rear bumper on my Acclaim, and someone said it's only possible if I get new tail lights. I assume they meant getting Calais tail lights?

And if that's the case, is it possible to put VZ Calais tail lights on my VY?

The basic body shell would be the same for Acclaim and Calais. The Calais lights are deeper but I think they use the same three mounting points as the cheaper models, so if you fit the bar and lights together, they should bolt straight up. VZ Calais lights are identical in size and shape to the VY Calais, just have a different lens pattern, so they fit straight in too.

Ah k, so when you say they're deeper, does that mean they're gonna stick out a bit more when fitted to an Acclaim?

The Calais lights are about 40mm lower on the bottom edge but identical in all other dimensions. The Calais (and Berlina) bumper has a bit more cut away to enable the larger light to fit. In theory, you could keep the Acclaim bumper but you would have to neatly cut the light recess out to fit around the bottom of the Calais lights. I've never seen it done but when I compared my Berlina to my daughter's VY Exec a couple of years back, it was easy to see what was involved.
