    Default Manual Conversion

G'day, I've had my Vy Spack for about a year, it's ex-police, plus my old man helped my buy it. So naturaly i can't sell it and get another thats manual already. Plus my diff is about to blow... I was thinking of changing it to a 3.7 LSD and doing the manualy conversion at the same time.
Any one have any ideas as to how much this would all cost? and what sort of ratio i should have?

    Thanks, Jango.

I think your best bet would be to buy a write off that's a manual that way you will have everything you need in one go, every nut, bolt clip etc that's different from auto to manual. Not sure how much that would be I suppose it depends on how banged up the wreck is but you can always sell what's left as well as the auto trans you take out of your car.

    Hey Mate,

I know a place that does full rebuilds on diffs for $950 + freight. (that includes LSD, tight, new bearings etc)

As for the manual conversion, check it up on ebay for a conversion.

Just make sure it's suited for your model, i got one for mine and they sent me a VX wiring loom (which had to be re-wired all over the place), and a few other stuff ups.

You can pick up a conversion for about $1500, then the fitment for it you're looking around $500-800 depending on who and where. You will also need a Manual PCM (ECU) unless you're getting the tune changed like myself.

As for the diff, you're better off changing it yourself. With a mate helping you could do it in a day if you haven't done it before.

The diff ratio on the other hand, depends what you want to do. My 3.7's with the manual rev @ 2450rpm @ 100kph. If you do alot of highways I'd go max 3.45's.

All the VX manual stuff will work in the VY, but you will need a different wiring loom for the manual, unless the guy you get doing it is good at wiring.

Any other questions just PM me, or check my thread i put a little bit of info in there as i did it.
