Hi guys my cars (according to holden) clutch is on its way out after 9 years worth of driving day in day out.
Im going to get a second opinion on the matter , but if worst comes to worst and I have to replace the clutch, what brands are good?
Dont really want to replace it with a factory one as I got quoted 3000 for just the clutch w/o labour costs
(i could buy a new gearbox for that!)
Ive heard exedy is the go, but just wanted to know what u guys reckon
Cheers, al

Excedy is alright. Driven a few cars with them. Id recommend a textralia clutch though. Heaps stronger if you have a modified engine. Pretty well much factory feel depending on your choice and alot cheaper than $3k.
if ull got a six,
go a single plate flywheel over the std dual mass.
I put a exedy hd clutch in my Ecotec about 5 months ago.. The clutch kit cost me 420 and came in a pack including thrust bearing.. A very nice clutch to drive with day in day out.. But +1 on the solid flywheel, these dual mass setups are terrible. And you can't machine the dual mass either.. Only thing the dual mass is good for a bit of dampening as the getrag boxes are pretty noisy apparently.. I've been quoted about 1800 for solid flywheel, master cylinder and a new clutch pack including 350 labour...
I haven't yet got one but i was told to give a NPC kit ago.

Cheers for the response guys! I think i'll be going with an exedy due to the fact that ive just forked out 3k on the car in the last 2 weeks and moneys limited atm until i go back to work lol
The textralia and the npc look like awesome units, but i dont drive a race car or drive a massive worked v8 so i cant really see the point of fitting up a race inspired clutch + flywheel
Once again, Thanks for your help fellas!
