The vy ecotec is the best engine but i would go for the vz.
the vz has the alloytec... it has more power than the vy but i'm not to sure why you say the vy has the better engine

He's going off the assumption the VY being the last of the ecotecs makes it the best. I would go with the VZ if it is in good nick and maintained.

The reason why is every time i see a thread like this they say the alloytec is un reliable. And the eco tec is reliable.. Cheers.

Don't you mean your second car?

Don't buy the car based on power. Go and drive them both and see which one you like better. They aren't the same car.

also if you want to modify the car in look into what mods are available and what the cost and gains are as both have different engine and the mods are different in price and what power you get from them

I hope that both of them your looking at are manual!
driven both personly both manual and auto's
i prefeerd the throttle on the vy's but you would get use to it being a bit stiffer on the vz..
VZ has more power but parts are more expensive!
VZ's handle alot better - personal vew
VZ's brake better - personal vew
VZ's intirior is better - personal vew

all comes down to what you like, and how it feels for you..

I also noticed a big difference in the throttle between my VZ and my old VY. The drive by wire is so much better. The VZ also handles better.

Dont be fooled by the "190 kw" If your after more power/mods The vy will be better I have been doing a comparison on this area with a mate who has a vz As for looks vz is slighty better in areas Not sure how the vz can handle better and brake feels the same to me prob exact same setup.
