    Default VY SS Key/Immobiliser fault

Ok, can't find any discussion that is helpful so here I go...
We have a VY SS and for the last couple weeks, every now and then when we start the car, it will stall after a few seconds. The little lock symbol on the dash flashes until we hit the unlock button (key still in ignition). Turn the key again straight away and off we go. We didn't think too much of it until tonight when we got stranded at the shops.
We locked the car with the remote, came back about an hour later, and the remote wouldn't work. 3 buttons for unlock/lock/boot release. All 3 dead. Knowing what would happen, we tried anyway, and put the key in the door to open the car. As soon as the door opened the alarm went off and we put the key in the ignition to start the car. It just stalled because we can't disarm the immobiliser. I'm assuming our issue for the last couple weeks probably has something to do with our current situation.
Anyone experienced something similar? Is it possible that our little light flashing has been due to the battery in our key running flat, and we just need to replace it? I'm hoping it's nothing too dificult, will be talking to Holden first thing in the morning, just looking for other feedback as well. Obviously will also provide the solution, when we come across it. Cheers.

Hi, you will need a new remote. Also you can try bending the ring around the ignition switch outwards to give the key better contact with it(it also sends the imobiliser signal through it).

    Cheers Shane

Thanks for the tip Shane, spoke to a guy from Holden and he seems to agree that we need a new remote. Got a mobile locksmith coming out Friday morning so fingers crossed
