Hi all,
Im pretty new here, but hoping someone can help. I have a 4l60e in A VY 6. I have some questions, as I am rebuilding the box at present. The ATSG manual shows the tolerance for the low reverse clutch stack as 1.20" tp 1.24". Mine measures 1.18". On checking, the frictions plates and steels are not worn, but steels do not measure the .069" as stated by ATSG, they only measure 0.066". this is measured on an unworn part of the steel. Can anyone explain this? And, does it matter about being out of tolerance as finding selective plates seems to be difficult.
We have available from a 93 model 4l60e some steels that measure 0.069 thick, if fitted to to the VY it would put me back in tolerance. Would any suggest doing this?
Cheers
