I currently have 16"stock alloys on the Equipe and want some 18's, which profile on 18 will match the 225/50/16 I currently have?
I have looked at some conversion figures but I am not sure how close they need to be to not have a big eefect on the speedo.
also can anyone tell me how much lower (roughly) the car would sit with a set of king spring SL's?
I need to drop it a couple of inches so she doesn't look like it on stilts lol
For the tyres i use 235/40/18, they won't have a big affect on the speedo as I've never been booked for speeding.
As for springs, check out the rides section as i would think they'd be popular springs so you should be able to find a pic.

king springs say approx 50mm
If you look at a tyre brochure you will find out either the overall diameter of the tyre(s) on the rim or the wheel revs per km. You just need to match up the closest to the current tyres. Most tyre fitters should know this but I'd still check myself. You can also calibrate the speedo yourself however it does not fix the odometer then being wrong which would then probably stuff up your other functions like distance to empty etc, however I am sure a Holden dealer or instrument tech could properly calibrate the dash to suit any tyre size given the 16" wheels and tyres stock on your car are much bigger in diameter than the stock 15" rims and tyres on an Executive.
I didn't even think about the DTE info, wow. I have learnt so much from this site and still have so much more to learn. Thanks everyone for your help
i had 225/55/16 on my VYS ute & went to to 235/40/18. They are the same rolling diameter so will not affect the speedo. You just have to make sure the load rating is the same or higher on your tyres for insurance purposes.
