Hi everybody, This is my first post. I have had a look through the frequently asked section and couldn't find anything related to my problem. The thing is that my drivers side window is all the way down and won't come back up. It has done this before but has come back up after a little while. When i use the switch there is a clicking sound coming from the door on both the up and the down. I am travelling out of town in two days and don't like the idea of not being able to secure the car, let alone if it rains. Does anyone have any words of wisdom for me. Also what holds the door liner on? Have had a look and can see a number of screws, Is there any clips or a proceedure to follow when taking the liner of?
Help me please!!!!!![]()
There should be a few screws on the side and bottom of the trim, one hidden behind the lock which you can get to by popping out the little red plastic cover and sliding it off the rod and another hidden behind the door handle. That should be all of them from memory.
as to what the actual fault may be I guess you'll just have to have a look and hope you can c the issue. I have once seen this issued caused by the scissor action lift, it had popped off a washer and wasn't expanding properly.
Best of luck

Thanks for the reply. I will have a look. Didn't know if there was any clips. I have broken clips of on other cars and don't want repeat the same mistake.
Took the card off, everything as far as the mechanism is fine. gave the motor a few hits, no good. The motor is getting hot so i assume there is power. Still just have the clicking sound and nothing else. So would that mean the motor is seized and need replacing?
It's either the motor's bearings/bushes or the mechanism is siezed up. Does th emotor come off the mechanism? if it does and the motor works then it's the mechanism if not take the motor apart and give the bearings/bushes a bit of oil or grease.
Just had the same problem. It turned out to be the switch. Switch contacts get dirty and worn. Tests OK with a meter but voltage drops away with motor connected. It would be worthwhile to try a switch first.
If motor drives only one way then motor is probably OK because the switch reverses polarity for up or down.
Im with 03gto, it will be the switch common problem Last time it happened to me i just tapped the switch about 20 times then it started to work again. You can pull the switch out and rough up the contacts.
Well i managed to break the motor and manually wind up the window with the guts of the motor. I found a site yesterday that had the replacement aftermarket item for $50, I didn't save the site and now i can't find it.I looked through the history and it was not there. Can anyone tell me where i should look to find a replacement assembly?
