was on my way to work stopped at the lights turned the air con on, car took of fine. when i stopped at the next light and went to take off the car sounds like a steam boat and then stalled. i got the car to start again but it idles very low sounds like sh!t and then stalls. any help would be great.

Probably blew it up.............. And i bet you if he keeps revving it, it's going to seize.
What was the cars temp before it stalled the first time, any coolant any where.
You didn't give much info in what you had done/checked so its a bit hard for anyone to help. Confucius once said to get the right answer you must first ask the right question
Possible vacuum leak. If an Ecotec, check the 3 hoses behind the plenum chamber, and very importantly check the one under the throttle-body.

Got fuel got spark all hose are on that the first thing i checked coolant temp was normal when it stalled the first time. Anyway i got no time to look at it the mechanic can have a look and listen and we will see what happens
