Hey guys, new member here. I bought a WK Statesman in October 2010 with 118 000km on the clock, all seemed well. Within 9 months, I had the RL window regulator break, bearings in one of the wheels go, strut bearings go the left sun visor fall apart, the cd player stopped working, courtesy door light covers fall off, belt tensioner bearings give up, seized thermostat, cracked radiator, 2 seatbelts stop re-tensioning, clips on 2 of the centre console storage parts snap off, power window light on 1 stop lighting up, steering wheel turning to powder-like stuff on my hands and most annoying of all....the steering wheel buttons fell off one by one. Did I buy a lemon? Are these common problems, or am I really that unlucky? Also, is there a place more reliable than ebay to get most of these parts without selling my soul to get them?
Have you tried holmart. Search the forums for parts as well, LS1, streetwagons , etc Sounds like the steering wheel hasnt been taken care of, common for the leather wheels to lose the colouring on top, ive had 3 vys with a bit of sun fade on top of the leather wheel, but if you look after them (ie clean with leather cleaner and condition), theyll last a lot longer.
I have a Wk with 450k kms on the clock and don't have nearly as many troubles as you, I am guessing it is just bad luck or could be the previous owner did not take car of it.
Cheers guys. I'll be calling holmart after I get back from Soundwave next week, and I'm just guessing I'm very unlucky haha
It sounds like you've got every problem they've ever had, you must've done something bad in a past life, I only ever buy from eBay if I can't get them cheaper from bursons, staff discount, neighbor works there
