Not another problem with a VY!?

Now it's what I think could be my steering rack, or its connection to the front axle.

When im turning the wheel left during low speed manouvers I hear a ticking or clicking or clonking noise coming from the front left wheel or connection to the wheel.

My front shocks have been slowly wearing away over the past 6 months, and a loud thud of clonk noise comes from the front left suspension when turning left into a steep driveway.....

What the hell is going on?

Money is tight at the moment so befoer I send it to the mechanics I would like to know approximately what im in for....
