Hi,
I have a V6 with Genie extractors and a single cat system. I want to covert it to a dual cat system. I have some cats from a stock ss v8 but not entirely sure if they fit. The genie headers have a 2 1/8 slip fitting.
Im not exactly sure what size the inlet of the cats are, havent had time to really match it up.. it has the section where the o2 sensor screws in, then a joint and it looks like fatter bit of pipe that went up the the manifolds
They will fit, but you will have to fit the twin system up first then hold the cats up to see where you need to cut the front section off to meet up with the extractors.
If by saying you want to fit a twin cat system, you are meaning that you want to fit a V8 style cat back exhaust.

Yeah ive got whole exhaust. I guess my main concern is whether i can retain the slip fitting or if i need to weld it
thanks
Measure the outside diameter of the pipe on the section in front of the weld at the O2 sensor fitting. The bit where that loose flange is sitting in the picture. That will tell you whether or not the pipe will go inside the extractors or not.

my next question is if i have a dual catback exhaust replacing a single exhaust, what is the situation with the exhaust hangers? I dont think i have the one for the drivers side...
Ideally you will need the the hangers on the body for the right hand side, but it will still be OK without it.
