Good morning all.
Hope someone here can help (seems to be a wealth of expertise here).
The OE cruise control on my VY ute has stopped working.
Pressing the button on the end of the stalk no longer activates cruise control.
Given its age (it looked and felt a bit old and manky), I went down to Ballarat Holden and bought a new stick (about $80), disassembled the outside of the steering column and installed the new stick in the place of the old, connecting both leads. I simply changed over the original so it was pretty obvious where each bit went, so I am confident it is properly installed. Also, the indicators and high beam also work fine with the new stalk.
Sadly, the cruise control still fails to activate (the LCD display won't even display "CRUISE", let alone on.
If anyone has any suggestions, I would be very appreciative.
Thanks in advance,
Gav/
Have you checked the Fuses under the dash ?
Might be the cruise module under the bonnet. It's located just in front of the drivers side strut tower. Check the big brown plug Is secure, if not, you may be up for a new one.
Hey, I also sent this from my Galaxy S2 using Tapatalk 2!
If you do no good checking everything, you might have to go see someone who has a decent diagnostic scanner, some scanners can access the BCM (Body Control Module) which is what usually controls the cruise control systems. You can run certain tests etc from the scanner to see whats going on, or read and clear any logged BCM error codes if any are set....
Has anyone figured out how to fix this? as i now have this awful problem!
Hello, folks, i been reading up on cruise control issues.
I have a vy s2,2003/2004.
cruise works fine, but wont accelerate using the stalk,is this just dirt or will i need to replace stalk or bcm.
Any test that will help me pin point issues?
Also, free to a good home, front and back standard heighti, peddler comfort springs in good nick.
Pm me if you would like to adopt a full set of springs.

probably a worn out button or broken wire in the switch. If you are keen u could try open up the stalk and check the wires or just replace it.
