On way home yesterday got beep warning followed by "Check Engine" display in window. Not far from home so took it easy, went to accelerate and revs went way up with no drive (Auto box,04 VY11, 33000K), so coasted for a bit then accelerated and had drive again. At home checked trans level,OK, oil level, OK. Let it sit for an hour, turned ignition on, the self test comes up OK, started up, no "Check engine" display. The manual says its an engine management issue, so booked it in tomorrow, hope I make it.
Anyone had similiar probs???
Shift solinoid maybe?
If it Went into Limp Mode that means that its not somthing simple as a faulty sensor !
but was it limp mode?
my dad has had it happen on his ford transit van, he would struggle to get it over 40km/h but it would always be liek this, not on and off. He had to take it to ford to check it out and they replaced an engine sensor and something else and it was fine again.
Had car in the Service center on Friday, end result was nothing found, no fault codes came up on computer when plugged in. They said I would just have to see if it happens again.
Faults can be fixed but the inconvenience of being without the car for the day is a nuisance, thanks to those who responded, I'll note them for next time, we'll see what happens.
i get that if i sit in first gear and rev it to limiter for too long...
but just turn car off and on again its fix lol... btw manual
i was testing somthink ;-)
