Bit the bullet last weekend and fitted the new bar myself; What a nightmare. Before raising the car, deattatch the sway bar links on struts. After placing on stands, start by removing the calipers , abs plugs & detatching same from strut towers.Undo & lower struts from the car. Now comes the fun part! Put a jack under the rear half of the X/member & LOOSEN the two (2) rear bolts so that there is still at least one (1) full thread showing ,as viewed from the top, DO NOT REMOVE THESE BOLTS , they will keep the X/member aligned. Remove the jack and place it under the front half of the X/member. At this point the X/member has to be supported evenly, I used a block of wood. I removed both front bolts & lowered the front end,REMEMBERING to check that nothing was fouling as I lowered. Using the jack as support, drop the front end approx 60 mm. Next (I did this on the drivers side) loosen the bottom strut to hub attatching bolt & remove the top one, this allows the strut to drop & fall away. Next remove the remaining swaybar bolts & remove the bar . This isn't easy but it does comeout, be careful of auto trans cooler pipes & air con pipes. The new bar took about one minute to position, abut an hour to bolt everything back. REMEMBER to use locktite on those parts & have your front alligned including the x/member. Was it worth it. YOU BET!! This difference is astounding !
p.s. next week the rear bar Rocky1
